Exploring the Effects of Water Quality in Western Ohio

Logan Soil and Water Conservation District, Farm Bureau and Midwest Regional Educational Service Center (MRESC) collaborated to plan and implement a teacher workshop on water quality.  Seventh grade teachers from Logan, Shelby, Darke, Mercer, Miami and Auglaize Counties had the opportunity to participate.in "Exploring the Effects of Water Quality in Western Ohio" workshop.  Dave Shellhaas, MRESC representative, developed the curriculum.  Each participant received a $150.00 stipend, water quality test kits for their classrooms, curriculum guide and spectrometers that were developed by the University of Akron.  The workshop was conducted on August 7 and 8, 2018.  The first day was a classroom session, the second day was hands on training at Blanchard Watershed Demonstration Farms.
